Conversations about neurodivergence have become far more visible in recent years, particularly across social media platforms where terms like “neurodivergent,”and "masking" are now part of everyday language. Clinicians are frequently called on to help clients interpret this complex mix in ways that foster insight, validation, and informed decision-making. This training offers a practical, affirming approach for clinicians interested in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients — including those with ADHD. We’ll explore core concepts of neurodiversity and neurodivergent-affirming practices that emphasize respect, validation, and empowerment for individuals with diverse ways of thinking and processing. The workshop is designed to help you create therapeutic spaces that honor and support the unique strengths, needs, and communication styles of neurodivergent clients. Through a mix of education, reflection, and skills-based strategies, you’ll leave with tools you can immediately integrate into practice to foster inclusive, supportive, and effective therapeutic relationships.
